Hi guys,

I have a 242e or a 282 e it lists both on the casing which wont supply hot water or heating ,all fuses are ok and the red switch is lite.

It stopped working after i turned on the hot water ..after this there was a banging coming from the boiler and now hasnt worked since please help,

had one guy out said it was knackerd and came to this conclusion in 20 mins with just a torch and screw driver, another guy tested tghe boiler and seems convinced the PCB are fauklty but advise i call vaillent .....anyone got any clues or the number to vaillant service.?

check the overheat stat bottom left on a chrome pipe hasn't tripped

what's the pressure :?: :?:

Sounds like no flow through boiler. has anyone checked the pump? it may have gone to overheat.

pressure is 2bar....and when it did happen i noticed the temp gauge was near 90 degrees after i got to the atic

about 90 degrees will go to overheat. Banging is usually no flow through heat exchanger. Check pump first. Do rads heat up ok?

no nothing the boiler is silent np pumps nothing work ch a no go to, once it over heats does it not reset its self?

dont know what any of them did.....whats the normal fire sequence i.e pump then ignite fan etc...and how do i test the over heat trip?
