Hi Guys

We've just had a plumber install a new system round my friends house but the installer hasn't installed a External expansion vessel nor a bypass valve.

I've seen other with the same boiler with an expansion vessel installed.

Please advise whether one should have been fitted or not?

Thanks

I'm not a professional plumber so sure someone will be along soon but can speak from my own experience.

The cylinder could have an internal expansion 'bubble' instead of the expansion vessel. check the cylinder contemplates that.

The boiler has an internal bypass I believe.

Thanks! I read that too on the net but was a little confused as I've seen someone with a red tank fitted to a system boiler...

I was worried about that too when looking at mine.

I read the cylinder can have a vessel or internal bubble and the plumber confirmed the latter. Might be worth checking with your plumber though!

Vaillant ecoTEC 6 series don't need external auto by pass. If there are not too many radiators, the internal expansion vessel can cope with.
