Hi,

I brought my house September last year and a boiler service was already completed by the previous owner in June. Today I had a service for this year. The engineer advised me that part of the condenser pipe is missing. Nothing was mentioned on the previous service about this which I find strange. The boiler was installed in 2012 but I don't think I will get much luck with the installer remembering.

Based on the pictures I have attached is this an easy fix which I could do or should I get someone in to fix it ?

The boiler is a valliant eco tec plus 831.

Anyone's advice would be greatly appreciated

I would say the pipe has slipped off, can you pull it up from the cupboard/floor?

I bet it has happened when it was serviced, as there would be water everywhere.

Hi,

No I can't pull it up from the floor. Just strange that it is missing.

Maybe the condensate acid water just falls from the narrower pipe above to the wider pipe below without making a mess. The boiler releases the condensate in 'plugs', not a steady flow, so I could kinda see that happening. No expert of fluid dynamics though.

just do it yourself ;)
but i suspect the pipework from the boiler end has fallen down the 32/40mm pipework below

Could not feel anything that has slipped down there. I can do myself but I just want to make sure I get the correct parts

It just needs a short length of flexible tube.

I agree it must have slipped off at the service otherwise water would be on the floor.

It looks quite a reasonable installation but I do wonder if the magnet in the TF1 can be pulled fully out. Perhaps only if the bottom cover is taken off the boiler which is all right but I would not have done it that way.
