Hi,

I’m in the process of replacing my Glow-Worm Space Saver 50 (Y Plan) with the following:

Vaillant 415 ecotec (heat only) boiler,
VRC430 Weather compensator
VR65 control panel.

I currently have a Hot Water Cylinder with a Potterton variable cylinder stat. What I’m trying to workout is what the impact will be for the domestic hot water features on the VRC430 if I connect the cylinder stat to the VR65? My thinking is that the Cylinder stat will continue to control the target hot water temperature - is this correct?

Will I need replace the cylinder stat with something more appropriate?

Thanks,

Chris

it won't work properly with a normal cylinder stat. You can try strapping the NTC that comes with the VR65 to the side of the tank, but not sure how well it will work. I will be trying this with my parents system in the next few months so will be able to report back findings.
