Hello
I had only luke warm water coming from my bath tap, plumber came to change diverter valve, had trouble fitting the washer seals that came with new valve, said they were too big, so used the ones from old valve, now have hot water, but boiler is now leaking , would appreciate your view and advice, lost faith in plumber a bit, scheduled also to change my taps in bathroom

Tell your plumber they have left you with a leaking boiler (if recent). Washers that come with it are not too big at all and should have been changed. I’ve fitted plenty of these. Tell them you have found someone else for the tap (but only when they have fixed the leak).

Can I ask (CBW)
If replacing a diverter valve is a straight forward job for an experienced plumber, and could it possible that the replacement used was not a genuine Valliant part ?
Thank you

Perhaps, or maybe obtained a repair kit from ebay? Who knows. I’ve been only fitted genuine parts and only ever struggled slightly when a nut doesn’t line up - which is easily sorted, not bodged.

Yes, providing the screws come out. I usually have one done with the expansion vessel re-charged in less than an hour.
