Hi Everyone

My friend has just replaced a radiator (old one leaking) he bled the rad whilst boiler was switched off, the problem is he has no water coming from all of his hot taps.
He filled the system up to the required 1.5 bar, does he now have some sort of air lock? if this is the case how do you solve this, is there a valve or air vent inside the sytem which you can release the trapped air, I know some combi boilers have this.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

You hav'nt inadvertantly turned the cold water service valve off have you?
Steve

Its pretty obvious that a valve in the supply to or from the boiler is still turned off if nothing comes out of the hot tap.

Air locks do not occur in mains water supplies because the pressure is too high.

Thanks for the quick and informative responses, I see your point about mains pressure, I need to get round there and investigate, as always I will let you know the outcome.

is there 2 valves to turn, i cant remember of the top of my head on the ecotec? if so the valve on the mains side on the vaillant cuts off supply to boiler when opened for filling loop, you need to turn both ends off when filled (to 1 bar)

Water back on, he told me he increased the pressure more and it just started pouring from the taps??

Thanks again for all advice.

Steve
