Hi

I have a Valliant turbomax vuw 242e or 282e not sure which. The problem I have is when the hot water is operated for say a shower the radiators get hot. I have also noticed that the water seems quite a bit hotter & so do the radistors when the heating is on, to hot to put your hand on.
Over to you guys.

Is this a combi or boiler

Hi

Its a combination boiler for central heating & domestic hot water. (so the book says)

Sounds like a problem with the diverter valve, which seems to be the Achilles heal of this boiler. A new diverter valve will be around £100, but the valve may be repairable, although this will take time.

If you search for this boiler (Vaillant Turbomax VUW 242) on this forum you may find more info on repair and spares.
