I was having a look at plans from various manufacturers of diverter valves. Particularly I was interested in how much depth is required to house what is behind the front plate within the wall. My bathroom cavity wall can house no more than 90mm of valve from the front plate.
What I've noticed is that most provide this distance as a range distance as opposed to a specific distance.
For example, in the diagram below the distance behind the front plate is given as 80-105 mm (I've marked this with a red arrow).
What does this range mean instead of using a specific distance?
