I have been asked to install a pressure reduceng valve on the cold feed to a house. I suggested removing some of the back on a kitchen cupboard to get it above the stop tap before it splits to applainces. However they don't want me to do this they want me to put the valve under the floor on the mains pipe before it reaches the internal stop tap they had already cut a trap in the floor. Puting a valve under the floor seems like bad practice to me. Any thoughts?

It falls in under the floor boards of the cupby hole under the stairs not realy accesable

was worried with it beging compersion it could leak over time is it bad pratice to put compression fittings under the floor?

i don't like compression fittings under the floorboards but sometimes can't be helped.
but i was thinking more along the lines of maintanance or if they move and don't tell the next people where it is and it go's wrong.
ie blocks, restricts flow the plumber could be looking for the problem for hours.

Yes, buy a new house fit solid oak T&G flooring then............whoops
