vauxhall meriva 06 (fan belt)

hi guys,
im looking for advise on a vauxhall meriva 1.4 life. 06 plate

whats to do is ive changed the water pump after the plastic valve broke, ive put everthing back together except for the fan belt. i need to know about the pretensioner ( i think the pretensioner is a coiled spring but aint sure) located on the rear bottom side of engine.

can anyone guide me through the task to refit a fan belt

oh dear, undone the spring pretensioner fan belt on but struggling to compress the spring, any tips will be usefull or is there a spring compression tool that would do the job
