vauxhall vivaro starts fine but engine jus ticks over!!!

My van starts fine but engine jus ticks over in idle but cant rev it when press accelerator to drive it or anything but then occasionally lets it go as normal! Any ideas?

What van is it?

Could be a broken acclerator cable (if it has one), or if not a faulty throttle position sensor, or throttle pedal sensor. Any engine management light on?

2005 1.9ctdi. Dont think ot broken cable as sometimes goes fine. Always upon startup, (owned 4 2half yrs), cant rev engine straight away as though van checkin all ok then about 5 to sometimes 30secs away i go, durin this time i can press throttle n nothin happen

Prob drive by wire, so most likely a sensor fault.

sounds more light an injector fault, go to your local garage and ask them to do a "leak back" or "leak off" check, the engine seems to be struggling to maintain the high pressure (300bar) in the fuel system
