Got a problem with this car which beggers all belief. It starts and ticks over but when you press accelerator nothing happens!! no revs.

Switch engine off, press accelerator to the floor, switch engine back on and car runs as it should do, now also put £20 worth of diesel in and dash comes up with low fuel light.

Can anybody throw any on this problem please, is it an electronic problem or a fuel problem.
Many Thanks

These engines are fly-by-wire and therefore have no throttle cable....the throttle pedal turns a potentiometer.
Obviously the ECU is getting a confused signal......just check that the brake lamps aren't on, will you?
John :)

Thanks for that Burnerman, it makes sense, it has been to the Garage, and the Diesel filter was changed, but not fitted correctly, consequently there was Diesel spillage all over the Engine.

This car was fine before the service, so probably the diesel spillage caused the problem.

Many Thanks
