Hi
I bought an unused 2 year old VAX Heavy Duty Pressure Washer 2500 VPW4.We opened the box and set it up as per instructions.
It did an excellent job of cleaning our driveway. But 2 hours into the job, water pressure went feeble and machine went silent.
I thought it was the thermostatic cut off.And unplugged the machine and left it.
After 24 hours it still wouldnt come on.I changed the 13A fuse just in case, and also checked if RCD has tripped.
There is no burnt smell or anything like that.
VAX people were very unhelpful once they told me machine has not been registered or is out of warranty time.
What could be possibly wrong? I just cant imagine such a heavy duty pressure washer could just stop working after mere 2 hours of running!!

Is there any possibility that you left the machine running - without jetting water for more than a minute?

Sure, these domestic machines should be run for maybe 10 minutes, say, then rested for 5 mins to cool......seriously!
Some machines can continue to run without jetting - some have an auto shut off. If your machines motor keeps running when you aren't jetting, you can't let this continue for more than a minute or two.
Anyway - first things first. Plug another electrical appliance into the socket you have been using, just to check that all is well there.
After that its a case of opening the machine up, I'm afraid for further testing, and a multimeter will be needed for this.
John :)
