On my 1999 Vectra, 156,000 miles now, the rear suspension, nearside, has become a bit squeaky. Anyone know what may be the reason for this, and can anything be oiled, etc, to cure it? Any advice much appreciated, thank you.
If the suspension has not been changed in the past 3 or 4 years then it's probably the shock absorber that's starting to go. These are reasonably inexpensive to change.
It may well be trapped dirt but most likely that the shocky has been leaking it's gas/oil depending on what type it is.
IIRC a rear shocky from a factors should run you about £30.
I had a similar issue on my Astra and it was the gas that had gone from a 4 year old shock. Not surprising with the state of the roads these days.
