velux flashing kit edw

i have fitted a velux window with the correct flashing kit, an edw kit, on the top of the flashing kit is a small 1" angled piece connected to 2 strips of metal, whats it for? is it to hold the bottom of the tile steady? there is no description of its use in the paperwork.

sorted, to support the bottom edge of the tile resting on the top of the kit, i rang velux

Is it the piece with 2 thin metal straps? if it is then yes its there to support the bottom edge of the tiles, the strips can be bent over the top flashing to hold it in position.
