Not sure I understand were the 10mm comes from? I have fitted hundreds of stylights fakro, roto, velux, keylite and other manufacturers probably that I can't remember the names. when tiles are involved you need to cut the back of the tile or pack the baton to make them sit straight, all roofers will have there own way of doing things but that works for me.
