Have Trevi Boost installed seven years. Works well but for occaisional failures. Sometimes due to limescale but even when cleaned fails to pull hot water. Eventually responds to removal, replacement of booster cartridge and/or removal of head, lowering of hose to floor. Suddenly kicks back to life. All supply conditions OK. Anybody have any ideas?

I dont do that much with showers but seeing as no one else has answered here's what springs to mind

Fit a water softener
Does it have filters on inlet . :?:
Is it plumbed in correctly @ cylinder :?: could be sucking in air at vent  as having to lower it suggests airlock

Almost certainly an air lock. Fit a Surrey flange (about £15) - a pipe that's inserted in the top of the h/w tank that draws water from deeper down the tank below the air that forms in the top.

Or turn down the thermostat if your water is hotter than 85 degrees.
