Has anyone found old (pre-1990) vermiculite insulation in their homes. It is a big deal in the US and Canada, as the ore from the largest mine was contaminated with asbestos. Frustrating thing is that the UK authorities provide no guidance as to whether this is an issue here or not. Apparently standard asbestos tests are not reliable when used on vermiculite. Would be interested to know if anyone has had similar concerns in the UK and how they dealt with them (especially if planning to make alterations to the home).
