Hello All,

I have a little job to do under the floorboards, the small support wall for a couple of floor joist has been knocked over ?
Its supports a new staircase so I want to put it back.

My questions sounds so simple but I thought I best ask anyway.

Can I use the 40yr old grey bricks from under the floorboards ? they have cleaned up very well but are extremely dry (surprise!) So is the concrete base.

I am just concerned it will suck the moisture from the mortar so quickly it may cause a problem ?
Any advice would be great.

Thank you.

Damp them down first. I've got an old 6" wallpaper pasting brush that I use. Just enough water to kill the suction. The grey bricks will be fine for your sleeper walls.

Ok - thanks for the advice guys. I suppose the same goes for the concrete base. Give it a good wetting first.

Cheers
