Hi,

I was wondering if somebody could put a ballpark figure on the following work?

The room is 7.4m x 3.8m, with a bay window/front door at one end and backdoor/opening into kitchen at the other. Being 1900's build I'm looking to get the walls done with "dot & dab" plasterboard to straighten it up, and then skimmed ready to paint/decorate.

If anybody could give me a rough idea of price and job length it would really help. I have a quote, but want to see if it in the right price range, as the guy has done work for me previously so is my preferred option if the price is "there or thereabouts".

Cheers,

James

Why do people think if they post the price of their quote it will have an impact on the comments the receive? Better off asking in the plastering section anyway.

Yea sorry, didn't see the plastering section until afterwards!

I didn't post the price as the price I have includes some other works to be done too (I am waiting for a breakdown of it!)

I was only after a rough idea really, as I've not had any real plastering done before, so don't know if the job is 5 mins or a week.

Thanks,

James

I thought that work would require insulated plasterboard if you stripped back to bare brick so that would increase the price.

It's a terraced house, so was planning on using the soundshield plasterboard on the ajoining walls, and baton/kingspan the external ones.

Just been quoted following

Ceiling, £110, is approx 8 metres long x 1.25m wide with a small section 2m or so wide.

Wall of 2.7m long x 2.5m high = additional £60

Fair enough - but you`re in Wales  Gonna be more in Kent . Plus you might not get a decent spread who wants to put up plasterboard - they like to keep it simple  Maybe consider a drylining specialist who`ll give you a nice taped and jointed wall finish - just like all new homes

Those prices are for a skim and repair of a crack. Cardiff.
