I was wondering if anyone happens to know the data protocol behind VESDAnet? It'd be really nice to RRDtool some pretty graphs and I don't really want to fork() out 10 times what I paid for the sensor for a HLI.

All protocols belong to the company that designed them.
You would normally have sign an agreement with them, no one should release a protocol unless its public domain anyway and there are not many protocols that come under that unfortunately.
