Am just about to replace a couple of rads for a friend of mine. Whilst there today for a chat she reminded me again about the fact that their unvented cylinder (Telford Tornado about seven foot high) keeps vibrating and even keeps them awake sometimes.
Boiler is a Feroli.
It vibrates through the pipes but on HW only.
So I rang the company and was put through to a heating engineer. He said that sometimes the coil vibrates and suggested that a bypass gate valve should be fitted (after me telling him there is not one already). He said fit one and open it up. He suggested that this would relieve the pressure on the coil.
The above makes sense to me and it cannot do any harm but before I fit one...
Is this the thing I should do to cure the problem?
Presumably this is a "fix" for a manufacturing or design error?
Will "opening up the valve until it cures the problem" have adverse effects on the CH system?
