Recently our toilet has started vibrating very loudly when it is flushed. I can cause this to happen after filled too by pushing the ball cock down very slightly. The internals look like this. Can anyone point out what might be causing this?

Do you have a valve below the cistern that you can turn the water flow down so it fills up slower? It's not a fix but may help in the short term if you are not confident of changing the ball valve.

Not that I've noticed but I'll take a look tonight.

Yes reducing the water pressure, can help prevent noise.
There should be some form of isolation valve on the supply pipe.
