Hi,

We are in the process of buying a large mid Victorian terrace with living accomodation over three floors. It is in a state of disrepair and needs various jobs doing to it.

One of these is an overhaul to the plumbing and heating.

We plan to have a bathroom and ensuite to the first floor and a shower room to the second floor.

Above the second floor there is loft space for header tanks.

What I am wondering is:

1. What sort of boiler would you go for in this scenario? In our current house we have a Worcestor combi and get annoyed at the flow of hot water when filling the bath and we can only have one tap running at a time. In a house with more than one bathroom we want to avoid this problem.

2. With the above boiler what are the best sort of showers to go for? Is it electric, mixer, power etc?

3. There is no heating in the kitchen except for the current boiler. we are thinking of putting underfloor heating in here and the 1st floor bathroom. The kitchen is a solid floor whilst the bathroom is timber. Is underfloor heating a good option in these rooms and is it efficient to mix radiators with underfloor heating?

Thanks in advance

John

Vented cylinder, heat only boiler or combi feeding only kitchen or one bathroom.

Dont mix UFH and rads.

Why not Tony.

Its common practice to have UF downstarirs and radiators upstairs.
