The video is jammed in the cctv video recorder. Any ideas how to free it??!!

Carefully if you need to keep the tape, if you dont need the tape..BRUTE FORCE

you will probably need to disconnect it from the electricity and take the cover off. You will then probably be able to see the tape wrapped round various pulleys and drums. If it is tangled you will probably need to cut it free.

Do not touch the drum, and do not allow the tape to rub or pull at it, since it has delicate heads on the surface

If the tape is not jammed or tangled but the "eject" mechanism is not working, you may be able to take out the tape by hand, but if it will not load and eject any more you may as well chuck it away and buy a new one (or buy a DVD recorder). The marked for new video recorders has just about dried up, but if you can get one of the latest Panasonics at a good price it is an excellent recorder and the last ones are being sold very cheap

p.s. sorry, I see it is a CCTV recorder. This is presumably quite expensive so may be worth having it repaired if you can't fix it yourself

It wont move at all! It wont play, record, rewind, eject or anything!! (It does turn on!)I'm getting to the sledge hammer stage!

Why did you post on this forum? You obviously haven't read the above posts, where several people imparted useful advice, which would save the sledgehammer stage and a lot of money.

Buy a digital recorder.
