Hi All,

I am about to lay a new vinyl floor in the bathroom and need some advice. I have just removed the previous occupants vinyl floor (substrate and tiles). Unfortunately, the substrate was glued to the floor (18mm T&G chipboard) and is still tacky.

As I do not want to put the new vinyl floor down directly onto the chipboard for fear of it sticking, can anyone suggest a suitable underlay (that also wont stick)?

I tried using that 2mm foam underlay that goes under laminate floor, but the floor is to sticky for this.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Waiting in hope...

3mm hardboard?
(Normal wooden floor underlayment os 2 - 3 mm so I don't think you have a height problem?)
