vinyl sheet do i need to glue

Hi i am having vinyl sheet layed and the fitter who is going to fit tells me that because i have a table and chairs on the vinyl it will be better if it were glued down because as you move on the chairs it will tend to strech the vinyl,is this true or not.

Yes and No...

....it depends on the quality of the vinyl, the amount of use it will have to suffer and to some extent the table and chair leg construction can have an effect too.

I would certainly advise sticking felt pads under your table and chair legs. But whether you stick it down is a tricky one - you do realise that next time you change the floor the glue will result in damage to your sub-floor, for example if your sub-floor is concrete you will need to have it screeded, mainly due to the glue residue.

We usually use double sided tape which seems to do the trick
