Hi,
I'm having an issue with the hot water on my boiler.

Water doesn't go hot when turn on the tap but will work if the CH is turned on first.
When I turn on the tap when the boiler is at rest, the pin comes out the diverter valve and makes the micro switch but the pin on the flow switch does NOT go in.
In CH mode the flow switch pin goes in and makes the micro switch, then if I turn the hot tap on the diverter pin makes the DWH microwitch and I get hot water.

Anyone know why the flow switch is not made when the asking for DHW.
Tried bleeding air from Hot water heat exchanger but didn't solve it

How competent are you to work on this boiler
I have parts for this boiler.
When you say inverclyde, where are you.
Can almost write a book on this model

Certainly know why that is the case. What is the pump capacitor value?

If you search these pages, have written plenty on this boiler

Boiler will be around 30 years of age, if looked after easily do another 30.

I have done some work on it, previously changed diaphragm and 3 way diverter a few years ago but im not gas registered. I have searched the forum but none give me any answer to why flow switch is not made when asking for HW

I'm in gourock

The pump capacitor has 2uF written on the pump case but I'll measure the capacitance tomorrow

First thing to check , have you bled the calorifier ? small white tank on right hand side inside the boiler, using a 13mm ring spanner crack open the brass bleed screw on the top of the calorifier till water comes out then close again

Do you have a multimeter.
Good to read the flow manifold is functioning correctly as spindle often is stuck in the retracted position
Answer not there possibly because it might be in the closed section or a forum run many years ago by Les Gradwell in Manchester

Yes I have a multi meter so will check the capacitance. I removed the flow diaphragm and replaced it as I had one to hand but nothing wrong with it, cleaned up spindle.
