Basic boiler that has always proved reliable until last week when a noticeable drop in domestic hot water was noticed. No worry, I have a British Gas service contract, and the next day the engineer without removing his jacket or opening tool box, diagnosed a blocked heat exchanger and left. Came back next day with new HE only to find, slightly embarrassed, no difference? He deliberated and muttered for half an hour before announcing a new boiler was needed!
He may be right, but then again what happens if the problem still remains after the expense of a new boiler. I would appreciate any advice regarding possible cause of this drop of hot water pressure. Many thanks to all.
