Hey all, I've been looking around your site for advice on how to fix this problem but I think I'll need a bit more help on this problem. I've just moved into a new house and was a bit unsure how to make the boiler work. I found the manual on the website and found out that the flashing 03 was actually an error :p I've read that it could be a blockage in the pipe or something. I can't contact the landlord for the next 2 weeks as he's away and it's in my contract to contact him regarding calling out engineers. Is there anything else I can do to try to sort out this problem because I'm a little fed up of washing in a shallow bath using the kettle for hot water  I have read about people trying to bleed the system or draining the boiler and refilling it. I think i'd like to try these first but have no idea how to go about it. If that fails, cleaning out the venturi tube sound like it might work I have no idea where this is though. If I have instructions I am pretty competent, so any advice on this would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot,

Clint

Fault code 03 is pointing towards a fan fault, either the fan is not spinning, or the aps is knackered and is not detecting the fan spinning.

It could also be the fan venturi needs cleaning.

Can you hear the fan spinning?

But as you are a tenant you should not be dabbling with something which should be repaired by a CORGI.

If your landlord has gone away and is uncontactable then I would say that you are entitled by law to have hot water otherwise the property is classed as uninhabitable.

I would say that you could call a competent engineer as an emergency and deduct the cost from the rent. Make sure he is competent and not going to overcharge.

Thanks for the replies guys. I could hear the fan spinning. And the flames came on once after I reset it and started to heat up the water. I think someone else fiddled with it after that as it was on hot water only and had error 03 flashing on it again. How would I go about cleaning the fan venturi?

Thanks
