Hi all,

I have a Vokera Linea HE 35 that i am having some real issues with.

The initail problem started on monday when there was a lack of hot water, only luke warm/cool water was coming from the tap/shower.
The boiler sounded like it was constantly firing up every 10 seconds then powering down, as a result you would get a brief spurt of hot water then it would run cold again.
A fault code of 93 would briefly appear when the boiler was reset.
Its possible that the central heating also was failing to heat the radiators to normal temperatures as they were only slightly warm to the touch.

I have since had an engineer out who believed the thermistor had failed and replaced it, however this did not fix the issue.

He believes that the Heat Exchanger ma have gone but we are unable to get one until the new year (4th).

The boiler now refuses to ignite and is giving the error codes: 42/41/40 at restart.

This indicates water pressure, which is currently fine and the internal pressure gague is showing blue which in theory indicates good pressure?

I have tried and failed to get hold of vokera for 2 days, via phone and web service request.

Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with the boiler?

im based in leeds if a vokera specialist reads this and wants to earn a few pound fixing it :D

thanks for any replies/advice

difficult one without standing in front of the boiler. code 93 is condensate level high which probably means frozen condensate. assuming the condensate isn't frozen now you will need to check the water pressure side of things. blocked gauge? blocked pressure sensor? if you can't take anything apart yourself try putting a little more water into the boiler as the gauge may be giving a false reading.

other common general fails are the thermistors, ignition and detection probes and the PCB. sit down if it's the PCB, last time i checked it was around £450

i find it unlikely your heat exchanger has a fault.

Hi Nickso, thanks for your reply :)

Ouch :( £450 is a little steep for a pcb, more than 50% of the boiler costs!

Ok i have tried to get a vokera specialist but he cant come until the 5th jan.

I have had a look at the water pressure earlier, the little internal pressure gauge is showing the needle to be just over a 1/3 of the way around and if i top up the system the needle does move.
However it does appear there is a leak somewhere in the syste, as a small puddle has appeared under the boiler today.
(even though it hasnt been used for 48hrs)

not unusual for a leak to appear when the boiler is at it's coldest. i'm sure your RGI will sort that easy enough.
