Is it possible to remove expansion vessel through side of boiler instead of out the top as I have plenty of room on both sides of boiler and the flue is coming out the top of the boiler.

Probably just needs recharged PROPERLY
Pump air into it whilst the water side is open to atmosphere... Boiler drain down required and hoses into a bucket.
