voltage free thermostat programmer wiring

Hi,

I wish to wire a horstman thermostat/programmer into a ferroli bolier. Is this possible? On the ferroli bolier it says I can remove the link between pins 4 and 5, but this needs to be a volt free connection. On the cheap horstman it has L N 1 2 3 4 connections. I'm not sure whether this works volt free or not, also unsure of which way to wire into it. Any help would be appreciated.

its a horstman c17. I've just seen it says it is only suitable for mains applications, so i presume I cant use the programmer for this volt free applications. Are there any volt free thermostats out there, or can I manipulate 1 for this task?

The Horstmann C17 is a single channel 240v programmer, however you say you need a volt free thermostat.

A thermostat and programmer have different purposes, so I should ask, what are you trying to achieve? Time control, temperature control or both?

Also, I suspect we're talking about a combi boiler here, could you confirm whether this is the case? Do you have a hot water cylinder?

The Horstmann C17 is a single channel 240v programmer, however you say you need a volt free thermostat.

The C17 has volt free connections to the boiler. It only needs 240v to run the electronics. See Installation Instructions It can be used for 240v operation by linking the L and 2 terminals.

The OP still has to say if he is muddling up a thermostat and a programmer.
