I have had this a while now and I have mentioned it before - at first I thought someone might be changing it then pressing OK to store it, but no one is - of that I am certain.

I have the desired night temperature set to 16C, it never gets that cold in the house during the night to trigger the heating.

I have the day temperature set to 18C, only rarely does it get that cold during the day to trigger the heating - so all works fine at that, when we are absent. When we are in and cold, I nudge the dial up to 21 or 21.5C, until the next change of the period when it again drops back to my default desired temperature, except....

Rather weirdly, it sometimes, every week or so - just changes the desired day temperature to 20C entirely by itself.

There are two ways to store a different desired temperature...

    1. Go into the menu and program a new setting, or...
    2. Twiddle the knob to change it - then press OK to store it as the new desired. Not pressing the OK means it reverts to what ever desired is already stored, when the day/night period changes.

Always it changes it to a desired of 20.0C, I notice it is warmer, then have to nudge it back again.

    Hi,
Not the same issue as yours, but maybe something to think about?
I have a nest, that has occasionally and randomly changed the set temperature by half a degree or so.
Its rotary encoder scans an etch on the inside of the aluminium ring.
Cleaning the ring and the sensor solved my problems.
However, unlike your system, the nest doesn't need a confirmation press to set the temperature.
Could your button pad need cleaning?

It has done it from new. At first I blamed my partner for turning it up and pressing OK, but it wasn't - The other thing is that it always changes it to exactly 20C, whereas we normally tweak it up to 21C when we need it a bit warmer.

It's as if it has a mind of it's own.

That's the trouble with these 'smart' stats. They're getting too clever. They'll soon be taking over the world :D.
