Boiler in lock out mode, follow reset and ignition cycle starts, igniter arks for 2 seconds and then lock out. light flashing once per second, checked everything all ok, come too valve and noticed two scorch marks on the step down transformer, perfectly in line with the two solenoids, checked these for continuity across the coil and read fine, transformer ok as well.
Now how do you chaps go about reading the supply to the solenoids, as I can,t get my multi meter probes into plugs to read, ie, I want to read supply from board.

PS, If I don't respond straight away its because Im on my way to villa park, will respond tomorrow, cheers in advance.

Craig.

Judging by the low resistances it must be a 24V or so valve. Don't know which of brown or purple pairs are the main sol, but you should see something like 12-24v (careful - could be AC or DC) appearing. Can't you get yer probes into the back of the GV connector?

Presumably you're getting no flame? Diagnosticatiously, you could do what someone else has already suggested, and not been vapourised by a bolt of lightning afaik, and put a flame in the relevant place and see if the boiler clunks onwards..

Cheeers Chris, I am going to try wraping fuse wire around the probes and pushing into the plugs. Looking at the valve looks like the purple wires are first stage and then brown as main burner. will find out tomorrow

CLF looked out for you on the telle yesterday. Where you the guy in the man utd top

Bought a new set of probes and flied the old ones down to more of a point, set about fault finding from the top and found the water pressure sensor on the HE to be at fault, shorted out and hey presto......

Now thinking the HE is blocked as i met the installer when i fitted the restaurant kitchen. Checking it tomorrow as no time this morning, appointment with the club pro as one does.

Well blow me, never seen so much s***e come from a boiler less than ten months old. Whipped the boiler off the wall and knocked up a rig to fit flow and return, and flushed the two rads in the basement toilets. Then took out the HE cleaned this out with the pre-rinse arm in the kitchen, so much carp from just 2 chrome rads

Put the lot back, introduced inhibitor, fired it up and one very happy restuarant owner.

Parting words (after payment  ) OK Craig,a you,a come,a to my,a restaurantae any time,a you like,a table for,a two,a and a free house,a.
Now the dilema, do I go when she gets home from Barbados in ten days or take the table for two before   .

No only joking, for sure I'll wait
