Wago's inside conduit?

Hi all,

I'm thinking of adding some additional sockets in my (domestic) garage - the plan is to run the circuit inside rigid 20mm conduit along the top of the wall, then teeing off and dropping down inside conduit to sockets in surface mounted pattresses.

Can I use Wago/Ideal type connectors for junctions inside the conduit tee boxes? - these will be accessible and held shut with screws, if so, do I have to provide a method of strain relief for the cables?
50x50 trunking round the garage at high level, then conduit drops to sockets would be a much more workable job and easier to add to at a later date.

Thats the way to do it

As said, getting 2 x 2.5mm cables into a 20mm conduit is not necessarily a trivial task.

Two, pulled in to the conduit, at the same time - reasonably possible. Pulled in independently - next to impossible. Forming them into conduit boxes would be difficult, around bends and elbows - impossible. Which is why I suggested that the easy for the OP to do it, if the conduit is for neatness of the installation, is to just use conduit, and saddles, not boxes, and just leave gaps in the conduit, T&E exposed, where boxes would normally be used.

Maybe, but I would put no money on that being what the OP was contemplating !

In any event, getting multiple singles into 20mm conduit is somewhat more of a mission than just one T+E
I'd estimate six 2.5mm² singles in a 20mm concuit would have the edge on ease over a 2.5mm² T&E but both are easy.

If the six singles were pulled in together, you may well be right - but I think it would be a different matter if one wanted to add more after 3 or 4 were already in situ. Mind you, 2 x 2.5mm² T+E would undoubtedly be at least a bit of a struggle (even if pulled together) in 20mm conduit?

tends to look a bit scrappy though. The fire alarm boys seem to love the system using white plastic for the red FP200

We'll have to differ on that one, the capacity of a 20mm conduit is about 10 from memory, adding a second set of 3 in a short straight run such as OP. one would hardly notice the initial set. Adding a second T&E would be nigh on impossible.
