wall decor alternatives

We are planning to decor our new ministry center for youth to gather. We are hoping to make textured wall decor in certain rooms. HOwever, I notice that there are many different kinds of choices available. Paint, faux finishing paint, paintable wall panels, wallpaper, etc. Can anyone share their experiences with using these different alternatives. Which one is the easiest to install, easy to maintain, least cost, etc. Thank you.
