Wall Insulation, internal walls

hi, i live in a 1970s timber framed flat with internal stud walls. There does not appear to be any insulation. can anyone suggest any remedies to make walls better insulated? Thanks

You want to insulate the internal walls? This doesn't do a lot for heat insulation, unless you huddle around an electric heater in one room in the winter. Sound insulation can be vastly improved though, but you'll need to remove the plaster/plasterboard on one side to get to the space between the timber studs. Completely fill the void with rockwool or similar insulation, then new plasterboard back up. Skimmed, or taped and filled at the joins.

I think he means the internal "leaf" of the external walls, which will be timber frame and plasterboard.

Cavity wall companies will not insulate timber frames as it interferes with the damp-proof design and last I heard was not BBA approved.

I suppose you could do it by taking off the plasterboard and adding a membrane and insulation but it would be a lot of work. Maybe do a room next time you want to decorate it.
