i am changing my garage in to a room.
the walls are single brick. what is the best way for me to insulate the walls and what will i need to use

I not an expert, but the way I would do it would be to place timber battens on the existing walls, use rockwool or similar insulation batts between these, and line with plasterboard. You may need some sort of moisture barrier, perhaps one of the more qualified members can advise.

Have you infomed your local planning dept that you are proposing to do this?

i have aplied for planning and it all ok
do i need to have any sort of cavity between the isulation and outside walls

Then you need to follow building regulations, they can give you that....

Hi Splinter

Have completed your room in the garage, as I am thinking of doing the same, but only half of it.
