Probably been asked a thousand times but I couldn't find a comprehensive response on any previous thread.
We stripped back the wallpaper in a couple of rooms, plasterwork for the most part is pretty sound bar a few dings and dents. There is a residue on the walls from the wallpaper paste.

What's the best thing to remove it /or prep the walls before painting.

Was concerned about using eg hot soapy water in case it had an adverse effect on the paint we'll be applying.

Many thanks.

Hot soapy water wont have hlaf the adverse effect that the paste residue will...you really ned to give if a good scrubbing in order to remove the past on the surface and the paste that has soaked into the surface of the bear plaster.

Use one of those green scotchbrite scourers with pretty warm waterand then scrape a blade ove the surface while its wet...youl be surprised how much schmeg and crud is on the surface.

When you think you have shifted it all then give it a rinse over

Or...do as I do...and line it, its so much easier and quicker than all that scrubbing malarky.

A thousand and one.. ;)
