I am being asked to build a new wall for a school. The existing one is falling down due to two huge trees right next to the wall on the school side. Does this have to done under building regs or building notice, someone told me yay and someone ney!

Nothing to do with building regs if this is not part of a building

Whether it comes under planning regs will depend if it is a new wall or repair, and size criteria

If the tress are staying, then you need to be aware that the new/repaired wall will most likely move and crack - and your customer needs to know this so that they don't come chasing you in a few months time

You either need someone else to specify the repair (and take the risk) or advise your client and allow for movement in the design/materials used
