Hi all what's the best place to start tiling on a wall? One side of the wall or centre of wall working out left and right? Thanks

Make up a tiling stick.
Get a piece of batten about 4ft long lay out a row of tiles with spacers between and starting from one end mark the tiles off on the batten with a marker pen. Then use your stick to offer up to the wall and work out the best tile lay out eg, what works best around a feature like a window or cooker space, one tile centred or a join with a tile either side.

For non square tiles lay the tiles out the other way and mark the other side of the stick.
Hope that makes sense.

Yeh makes sense. It's basically 3 identical walls same length with 2 sockets on each wall which are 150mm centre off work top. There the metro tiles I'm working with. Was gonna start in centre but been told to work from one side - from left to right or vice versa.

No going around windows just a cooker space.

It's certainly best to space the tiles evenly at the cooker if there are wall cupboards and a hood over will look very odd if that space has for example a quarter tile one side and three quarters the other, because you started at the corner.
