I’ve got the ceiling, as shown in this pictures.
I am switching all ceiling pendants to multiple downlights in the room. This means the ceiling light will be removed and the hole will need to be repaired. I’ve got some of this paper in the house and wondering if I should stick a itch on and then paint, or should I use easy fill and create a texture somehow. I thought the piece of paper will stick out, given it’s small size and exposed edges.

Can you please advise.

That's not paper. It's artex.
Stipple pastern.

Repair patch.
Get it flat. Really important that bit or it will look bad.
Damp sponge edges of filler to blend in.
Let that set or dry.
You can sand flat if your filling is naff.
Thin mix.Tap to spike up with brush or sponge.
Just use powder filler to fill and make the pattern.

Ah. I was thinking about filling.
You were asking about consistency for pattern I guess.....

Thin like single cream to pattern. Like runny custard.
