Hi, we have moved into a house (bit of a state) all the walls are plasterboard I believe, can this be removed and then the walls plastered properly? also can you replaster the ceiling?

Any ideas of the costs for a 2 bed house?

Looking to do one room (4 walls + ceilling at a time)

Do you know if we would have to remove plasterboard and wallpaper from walls and ceiling or would they do it?
Thanks
Sharon

sorry to ask a question with a question, but any reason you want to remove the plasterboard and do the walls behind.if the plasterboard is in good condition it would save you a lot of effort and money.

personaly, arriving on a job where any wallpaper etc has been removed before hand is desirable.

cost ?,well its not easy without seeing the room, and maybe any other considerations that might affect a price overall, such as removing wallpaper lol.i would guesstimate between £350-£450 for an average size room .

Walls are probably boarded to hide the extent of damage / decay to existing wall finishing. It might not be just a skim job....
