Walls newly rendered but the cracks have returned already

I has a stairwell wall dug out and plastered 8 weeks ago but the cracks have come back.

Is there any way to guess from the photos what type of cracks they are?

The first two photos are the cracks before re plastering.

The last two show that the cracks have come back.

The decorator is suggesting digging it all out again and using a mesh across the cracks and then a flexible filler before painting. Is this worth it or do I need a structural survey ??

when you say you had it all dug out and replastered did you take the wall back to brick? if so was the cracks in the brickwork also? or did you just rake out the cracks and infill? if it was my house i would take it back to brick to get a better picture b4 doing anything

He took it back as far as is shown in the 4th photo. Not to the brick.

take it back to brick and then take some more photos
