Hi,

I have a recessed wardrobe with sliding doors. I would like to put in a shelf (1.3m) but not sure what to use.

I have used conti board before but it didn't look very good. Similarly I don't think I could get a professional finish with MDF?

Any suggestions for where I could buy some nice shelving boards or any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Why not some natural sanded pine boards from the usual sheds?
Granted, it's not the cheapest but doesn't need a lipped edge, and it is reasonably sag free.
Paint, varnish or nothing.....makes no difference.
John :)

Thanks for this, it looks like a good idea. I could varnish it and I think it should look quite nice.
