warm air query

a relative has asked me to move a cylinder from the airing cupboard to attic, theres no rads just warm air heating. the cylinder and warm air heating are being powered by a warm airheater upon inspection i can only find 1 tank in attic would this be a primatic cylinder?? or havei missed somthing?

It could be a Primatic or a direct cylinder. The water circulator in a hot air unit would be happy with either.

It doesn't really matter if it works OK at present.

A direct cyl will have either female connections to/from the circulator or male connections without backnuts on the outside of the cyl. You will be able to see straight into the cyl when these are disconnected. If there are visible backnuts, it is almost certainly an indirect or Primatic.

Primatics should be labelled as such, or stamped on the copper somewhere. If it is another make, it could be called a combination or single feed indirect.

Don't take any of this as Gospel - you have to assess the cyl only you can see!
