Hi all,

Building a warm roof, read online fixings should be every 300mm across the short edge of the board and then in every joist across the long edge, that works out at 24 fixings per insulation board and sheet of osb.

At roughly £21 a pack of 25 fixings and having about 40 boards to lay that seems a very expensive way of securing it all, can bigger spacings be used?

Thanks
Chris

Hi,

The link for the fixings I suggested in another thread recommend 12 fixings per 1200 X 2400 board and cost £42 per 100.

Which fixings did you go for in the end and what size boards are you using?

Still haven't ordered fixings yet but I am using 8x4 boards and insulation, 12 fixings seems alot more sensible

...and no need to fix into joists apparently!
Though hitting a few wouldn't hurt! :)
