Washing machine/dishwasher waste

Hello

Is it possible/sensible/safe to link both dishwasher and washing machine wastes to the same trap? I'm thinking of getting a trap with a feed close to the u bend for the D/W, and top feed the W/M. I'm a bit tight for space see.

You can get a trap with two separate "feeds", you can then attach the DW and the WM below the sink.

But be careful you dont run both at the same time as if they both empty water at the same time the one pipe outlet wont take it and will flood the floor

We ran our dish-washer and w/m at same time for years without a flood. Till about 9 months ago ... huge flood! Never done it since. Still a bit nervous.
