Washing machine fault.

Reference Philips Whirlpool washing machine AWG 384.
The machine will not carry out finalspin. It washes and pumps out ok, but will not spin. All mechanical parts seem ok. Any suggestions? All help appreciated.

This was a neighbours problem, and I was misinformed. The motor is not working at all, so we are exploring that. Will come back if stuck.
